Audio Files
MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, AIFF — all major audio formats are supported. No conversion needed.
Video Files
MP4 and MOV files are supported directly. Whisperer extracts the audio track automatically — no need to separate audio from video first.
How It Works#
Open File Transcription
Click the Whisperer icon in your menu bar and select File Transcription from the sidebar.
Drop your file
Drag and drop a file onto the drop zone, or click Choose File to browse your Mac. You can transcribe files of any length.
AI processing happens locally
Whisperer processes the file using your selected Whisper model. Everything runs on-device — your audio is never uploaded anywhere.
Get your text
Once complete, the full transcription appears below the drop zone. Copy it to your clipboard or save it to your transcription history.
Processing speed depends on your model choice. The Turbo model transcribes fastest — often faster than real-time on Apple Silicon Macs. Large V3 is slower but more accurate for difficult audio (heavy accents, background noise, technical vocabulary).
